Major Rail Investment Fuels Economic Growth in the Area

People living in Perth’s north-eastern suburbs are living in one of the city’s population growth hotspots, with the major investment in rail and road infrastructure paving the way for rapid commercial and residential growth in the area.

Metronet, the State and Federally funded Perth rail project, has been a boon for residents of the area, with the construction of major rail stations such as Malaga well underway. The City of Swan, with over 150,000 residents, houses the major growth areas of Malaga and Ellenbrook, and has now become one of Australia’s fastest-growing local jurisdictions.

Attractions of Perth’s North East

With significant growth, comes added interest in world-class attractions, such as the famous Swan Valley wine region, as well as Whiteman Park with its wildlife sanctuary, tourist train line and magnificent natural parks.

Meandering through the area is the iconic Swan River alongside the historic town of Guildford, as well as the commercial centre of Midland and the vibrant array of shops in the Morley area.

Major Road Infrastructure

In addition to Metronet, significant road infrastructure is proving vital for the local community, with east-to-west road traffic along Reid Highway matched in quality by the north-to-south options granted by Tonkin Highway.

The Mitchell Freeway north of Perth easily connects to Joondalup, while heading south quickly takes drivers to the Perth CBD, the Graham Farmer Tunnel and connections to Great Eastern Highway and Albany Highway.

New Land Estate Opportunities in Perth’s North-East

As a result of this rapid expansion, there has been significant interest in new housing estates, especially those relatively close to the Perth CBD and near the vicinity of Whiteman Park.

These new estates include Taylor's Private Estate, which has almost sold out, and the new limited land release opportunity at Bennett Quarter Estate, with Stage 2 land having only recently been titled.
